Football in times of coronavirus prompts us to think differently. These changes require football teams, like other live entertainment, to reinvent and digitalise their offerings more than ever.
In this context, when LaLiga Santander returned, Levante UD’s game against Valencia CF was special: it was a Valencian derby match but its fans were gone from the stands. The teams had to play to an empty stadium.
So to offer them the fans’ best support possible, even if virtual, we developed the first Levante UD Instagram filter: the “Frog Filter”.
It's a filter that uses augmented reality to paint fans’ faces virtually, using different Levante UD “war paint”.
The filter was a success among Levante UD fans. In just three days it clocked up more than 86,128 views. Over 7,000 fans used the filter to share 1,340 stories.
Furthermore, the filter was featured on various sports news media. And it continues to grow user numbers. Try it out on the Levante UD Instagram account.
